What Manufacturing does
The StoreCashier Pro Manufacturing module turns raw materials into finished WooCommerce products. Bills of materials can be multi-level, with versions, by-products, recoverable scrap, labour and overhead, and a BOM sheet rolls up the cost for any quantity.
Production orders move from Planned to Released, In Progress, Quality Check and Done. On completion, materials leave the source location, by-products and scrap are received and the finished good is received with its batch / lot and expiry at actual unit cost. Material requirements planning (MRP) shows shortages and suggests what to make or buy.

Manufacturing features
Bills of materials
- Multi-level BOMs ProRaw materials, sub-assemblies (linked to their own BOM), consumables and packaging, by-products and recoverable scrap, each with quantity, wastage %, unit cost and cost share.
- BOM types and versions ProManufacture, sub-assembly, kit / bundle, repack / relabel or process / formula, with versions, a default version and effective dates.
- Output and planning ProOutput per batch, expected yield, process scrap, batch sizes, lead time, shelf life (sets expiry), default location and routing.
- Labour and overhead ProFixed labour, additional cost and overhead by flat amount, per unit, % of material, % of prime cost or rate per production hour.
- BOM sheet ProCost roll-up for any quantity, a multi-level structure and availability table (up to 8 levels), where-used and work instructions.
Production
- Production orders ProPlanned → Released → In Progress → Quality Check → (Awaiting Approval) → Done, with batch / lot from a pattern and expiry from shelf life.
- Order detail ProPlanned vs actual quantity, rejected, scrap, material, labour + machine, overhead, unit cost, yield, first-pass quality and WIP value.
- Stock posting ProBackflush on completion or issue to WIP on release; shortages can block release or completion; cancelling or re-opening reverses every movement.
- Actual costing ProFinished goods are received at (total cost − credits) ÷ good quantity, optionally updating the product's purchase price.
- Approval gate ProCompletion can require a passed quality check and the Manufacturing Finalise approval.
Shop floor, quality and planning
- Work centers and routings ProCapacity, hours per day, efficiency, machine / labour / overhead rates and operations with setup and run minutes.
- Job cards ProReleasing an order creates job cards; operators Start / Pause / Finish with actual minutes, quantities and efficiency.
- Quality checks ProInspector, stage, sample size, passed / rejected quantity, result (Pass, Conditional pass, Fail, Rework) and a checkpoint checklist.
- Material requirements planning (MRP) ProWhat-if checks for any BOM and quantity, and open orders' demand vs stock with Make / Purchase / Covered suggestions.

Does StoreCashier support multi-level BOMs?
Yes. Bills of materials can include sub-assemblies that link to their own BOM, and the structure table shows up to 8 levels.
How is the cost of finished goods calculated?
On completion the finished good is received at unit cost = (total cost − by-product credits) ÷ good quantity, where total cost includes material, labour, machine and overhead.
Can production require a quality check or approval?
Yes. Completion can require a passed quality check and can be routed through the Manufacturing Finalise approval gate.
Is there MRP?
Yes. Material planning checks any BOM and quantity for shortages and reviews open orders' demand against stock with Make / Purchase / Covered suggestions.
